The Ladies' Golf Union ("LGU") now has a new online shop separate from the main LGU website.
Much effort has gone into making our internet shop easy and pleasant to use. We have also taken care to give our customers the benefit of highly secure payment facilities, so you can be confident that purchasing from the LGU Online Shop will be a good experience. We hope you will enjoy using this website, and we welcome your feedback and comments. Your suggestions will help us to improve the site and develop new facilities. The LGU was founded in 1893 and is the encompassing body for ladies’ amateur golf in Great Britain & Ireland.
The LGU Executive Council includes representatives of ladies’ golf’s national governing bodies in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Operational activities are undertaken by a wholly owned subsidiary, LGU Championships Limited, which in particular owns and runs the Ricoh Women’s British Open, founded by the LGU in 1976 and one of the four Major Tournaments for Professional Women golfers. The LGU Group also has responsibility for running British Amateur Championships and Home International events, and preparing the Great Britain & Ireland teams for representative matches, such as the Curtis Cup and the Vagliano Trophy. Through the National Organisations, the LGU has almost 3000 affiliated golf clubs, representing 200,000 lady members. |
